Dress Code: None

Dress Code: None

Who decided that everything had to match?

Somewhere along the way, fashion collected an impressive number of unwritten rules. Certain colors shouldn't be worn together. Some accessories are supposedly reserved for particular occasions. And apparently, there is a correct way to put together almost every outfit.

But the interesting looks are often the ones that ignore the script.

Think of an oversized blazer paired with something unexpected. A casual outfit finished with a statement accessory. A combination that sounds strange in theory but somehow makes perfect sense when someone actually wears it.

Personal style doesn't have to be perfectly coordinated to be interesting.

Sometimes it's the contrast that makes an outfit memorable. Something polished next to something relaxed. A playful detail in an otherwise minimal look. A handbag that stands out rather than disappears into the rest of the outfit.

And sometimes, the most interesting choice is to keep everything completely understated.

That's the beauty of fashion: the same pieces can be interpreted in countless different ways. What feels bold to one person might feel perfectly natural to someone else.

Trends come and go, opinions change, and the rules seem to be rewritten every season. Meanwhile, people continue finding their own ways of getting dressed.

Perhaps the question isn't whether an outfit follows the rules.

Perhaps it's whether the combination feels right to the person wearing it.

Because a dress code can tell you what to wear. It can't tell you who to be.
